Course Summary

This course is designed for people looking to become digital producers of innovative media content for various platforms including v/blogging and social media such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and HTML5. Training will focus on producing content that engages audiences in an immersive experience and understands the market that content is being created for. A vision for the future: 21st century communication is all about connectivity and participation and the way we connect and participate is changing these lines of communication. Our digital narratives involve complex networking across platforms and navigating this is a desired skill both in our personal and work lives. Course Details - Modules

Modules may include: Year 1 – Level 4 Digital Film Production Techniques Digital Post-Production Techniques Podcast Creation Media Communication in the 21st Century Preparation for Employment Academic Study Skills and Employability T-Shaped (ASSET) Year 2 – Level 5 Emerging Technologies Transnational Storytelling Influence and Engagement in Social Media Creating Commercial Content Immersive Journalism All students must complete 400 hours of WBPL across the duration of the course. Course Details – Assessment Method

The course is 90% practical and as such is participatory in its approach to teaching and learning. All the coursework will involve online assignments which are assessed in relation to your impact and presence in engaging the online communities and demonstrating digital skills. There are no examinations on this course.
