Course Summary

**Summary** Politics & International Relations with Data Science BSc (Hons) will not only equip you with knowledge of political institutions and their interactions but also with the ability to communicate that knowledge creatively and accurately to a wide range of audiences, in a diverse variety of forms. You’ll compare the political institutions of different countries, analysing where they derive their legitimacy and how they interact with other institutions. You’ll take a course in political theory, questioning not only how these organizations work, but also how thinkers have theorised they ought to work. In your Data Science minor, you will be able to effectively use databases, systems and analytical tools to generate insights and intelligence. **Teaching & Learning** You will typically experience an average of 9.5 or more hours of high-quality contact time in each teaching week, in considerably smaller groups than are the norm for UK institutions at the undergraduate level, if you choose to study Politics & International Relations as your major subject. The exact number of contact hours will depend on your choice of minor subject and any optional courses. Your contact hours will include a mixture of teaching methods best suited to the subject matter and to achieve the learning outcomes for each individual course. Teaching formats include small group tutorials, seminars, and lectures of between 10 and 60 students for your Politics & International Relations courses, and interactive hands-on labs for your Data Science courses. **Where can this degree take you?** As the Politics & International Relations BSc (Hons) is a new degree, the College does not yet have progression data for graduates. However, your degree and Diploma from NCH can take you anywhere.
